Due to the overwhelming need for a NeXTSTEP '486 graphical newsreader, I have taken the liberty to compile a FAT version of NewsBase. I haven't had a chance to test it extensively on a '486, but it works like a dream on a black box!
The sources contained in this distribution have been modified to compile under NeXTSTEP 3.1. There had been problems getting MMEdit to compile because of the jpeg library, but you'll find that it should compile now. Remember, if you try to compile a FAT version, you must use libtool rather than ar to create the libraries!
Although I have seen a newer version of NewsBase, this is the only version of the sources that I could find. If you have newer sources, please let me know, and I'll compile them.
